Minesto developed a new concept for tidal power plants called Deep Green. Deep Green is a radically new principle for the generation of electricity from tidal currents based. The center is located in areas where no other cost effective technology known for its unique ability to work, can operate at low speed. Minesto extends the full potential of marine energy and offers a radical change of the energy costs of the tides. The principle of the technique can be explained as a two-stepProcess. The first stage increases the relative velocity of flow in a turbine. If you meet the fate of the wing generates a lift force, as the kite is attached to the seabed with a tether and is controlled by a rudder, a kite in the path you want to take, formed here in a eight-way. The method increases the rate of flow into the turbine of 10 times the speed of the stream itself. The second stage uses a generator, the kinetic energy into electrical energy to convert. The networkResult is more power from a smaller package. The planned regular full size weighs only 7 tons with no anchor, an energy payback time is 3 weeks, compared to 8 months for onshore wind. The test confirms the power generation plant in Marin in the Netherlands.
